Abstract
This study was conducted to determine the best fit model of quality of work life of employees of economic enterprises in Region XI, Philippines. Specifically, it utilized description-correlation research design that investigated into the relationship of the exogenous variables work culture, job satisfaction, motivation with the endogenous variable quality of work life. It also examined which among the exogenous variables best predicts the endogenous variable. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was used to test the hypothesized models in order to come up with the best fitting model. Purposive sampling was employed to gather data through sets of survey questionnaires for the 400 participating employees of the established economic enterprises in Region XI. Furthermore, findings of the study revealed that work culture was very high while job satisfaction, motivation and quality of work life were high. Meanwhile, work culture, job satisfaction and motivation were correlated with quality of work life at 0.5 level of significance. The results of regression analysis revealed that work culture, job satisfaction and motivation are predictor variables that influence quality of work life with motivation as the highest predictor variable. Finally, the best fitting model of quality of work life was the hypothesized model 5, a model showing the interrelationship between exogenous variables job satisfaction and motivation, and the direct causal relationship of motivation towards quality of work life influenced by esteem and self-actualization.
