Organizational learning capability and competencies of librarians

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine which domain of organizational learning capability best influences competencies of librarians. The researcher applied the descriptive-quantitative approach employing correlational technique. Stratified-random sampling was employed in the selection of study participants. The mean, Pearson r and regression analysis tools were used to analyze the responses of 110 professional librarians employed in both private and public organization in Davao City. Findings revealed that librarian’s overall perception of their organizational learning capability and competencies is also high. Further the results showed that organizational learning capability is significantly correlated to the competencies of librarians, hence the null hypothesis is rejected. When regressed, among the indicators of organizational learning capability interaction of external environment best influences competencies of librarians.
