dc.description.abstractWaste Management has become a priority in regions, communities, and around the world. They are increasing health problems due to environmental sanitation caused by improper waste disposal and segregation practices. Some residents in household the community they throw in the nearby corners such as canals, or any common place that fits to throw easily and throwing garbage direct into the river and this result oceanic pollution. This study explored and examined the waste disposal and health conditions among the household members of Magallanes Street, Davao City. The researcher used a descriptive correlation method. A survey questionnaire used as the data collection instrument. A purposive sampling technique used in choosing the respondents. Purok 1 and 7 were selected as the research environment, for it is very proximate to the riverbed area. The members of the panel validated the instrument used in the study. Average weighted Mean, ANOVA and T-test were used to analyze the data. The respondents of this study were 168 households who are actual occupants and living near the riverbed, and some of them are living on the upper portion of Magallanes Street. Results revealed that household residents of Magallanes Street, Davao City, always practice proper waste disposal and waste segregation. In addition, fever, dengue, cough,cold, and diarrhea are the most common problems/issues encountered by people living in densely populated areas like Magallanes Street, Davao City. Moreover, there are no significant differences in the level of waste disposal and waste segregation practices among household residents of Magallanes Street, Davao City, when analyzed by profile.
