dc.description.abstract | Learners have diverse preferences in the integration and dispensation of
information. This quantitative research focuses on the relationship between
students’ learning styles and teachers teaching styles. The 16-point multiple
choice VARK version 7.1 and a Survey of Teaching Styles of Geoff Petty,
(2016) questionnaires were distributed to a total of 369 students of grade nice
and grade ten after acquiring permission to use the said research instrument.
Result shows that out of 369 respondents a total of 125 students (33.9%) were
multimodal. Overall, 303 students (82.1%) employed multimodal and 66
students (17.9%) was unimodal. Results revealed that there was no significant
association between predominant learning styles and teaching styles. Therefore,
learners are diverse or have multiple modalities in their learning styles which
play an important role in their lives. When students recognized their own
learning styles, they will be able to integrate it into their learning process.
Moreover, teachers should try to adjust their teaching styles so that they will
match with their students’ learning styles. The study have identified that
teachers’ did not frequently match the learning styles of the students.
