PARENTS' LEVEL OF ENGAGEMENT IN MODULAR DISTANCE LEARNING AT TAYAPOC ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Abstract
The primary purpose of the study was to determine the level of parents’ engagement in modular learning at Tayapoc Elementary School. The researchers used survey questionnaires as an instrument, utilized the descriptive type of research, and a total population sampling was done in the research, meaning that the entire parents of grades 4-6 were studied. Based on the respondents' demographic profile, most parents are high school graduates, and most earned P2500-P6249. The researchers used the adapted research questionnaire from Gumapac et al. (2022) based on the three indicators: sustaining motivation, coaching and tutoring, and monitoring student compliance. The study's result showed no significant difference in the parents' level of engagement in modular learning when categorized according to educational attainment and family monthly income. Parents are encouraged to continue to support and motivate their children in various aspects and encourage them to continue in schooling despite their parents' family income or educational attainment. Furthermore, future researchers should conduct the same study in different schools, particularly in the Island Garden City of Samal.
