dc.description.abstract | This study was conducted to determine the level of entrepreneurial behavior of small-scale pig farmers as the basis for the formulation of backyard farming capacity enhancement programs. The study used quantitative, non-experimental design of research using descriptive technique. The respondents of the study were the 54 small-scale pig farmers of Brgy. Dalawinon, Magsaysay, Davao del Sur. Complete enumeration technique was used in determining the respondents of the study. Mean, Relative Frequency, t-Test for Independent Sample and ANOVA were used as statistical tools. The result showed that the level of entrepreneurial behavior of small-scale pig farmers was high. In addition, data showed that there is a significant difference in the level of entrepreneurial behavior among small-scale pig farmers as analyzed by gender and occupation while there is no significant difference in the level of entrepreneurial behaviors among small-scale pig farmers as analyzed by age, highest educational attainment, monthly income, and marital status. Among the ten entrepreneurial behaviors of small-scale pig farmers, the indicators information seeking behavior, leadership ability, cosmopoliteness and assistance of management service gained the lowest means, hence, it was recommended that the local government should equally organize adult education program for the pig farmers as this will enhance their information utilization capacity, etc. | en_US |
