Abstract
The study determined the design and development of Microcontroller Trainer Board under the Microprocessor Systems course which is a common course offering for (3) three engineering programs in the University of Mindanao, namely; BS Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electronics Engineering. For that reason, it would be ideal to have a training equipment that would be applicable for all the three programs. Microcontroller Training Equipment that was commercially available offers limited laboratory exercises to be performed but only caters a specific type of microcontroller. Apart from this, the trainers available in the industry today are very expensive. With this, the researchers thought of producing low-cost, ideal, complete and marketable microcontroller trainer. The trainer was designed to accommodate concepts pertaining to data communication, interfacing, and General Input/output (GPIO) system. It was also designed to cater other types of microcontroller and to expand the number of add on modules supported by the trainer. Keywords: Microprocessor, Microcontroller, trainer.
