This study titled "Study Skills and Academic Performance of 1st Year BEED Students in UM Peñaplata College" was conducted to determine the significant relationship in study skills and academic performance of 1st year BEED students in UM Peñaplata College. This study has used the quantitative correlational design to describe relationship between two or more variables in a study (Creswell, 2000). The researchers utilized adapted questionnaire. The statistical tools used in the study were mean and Pearson-r. The results show that among the first year BEED students the level of study skills is at Very High level which means that study skills are always manifested. The student’s level of academic performance is B-Very Good which means that students are performing very well. The researchers concluded that the Study Skills of first year BEED students of UM Penaplata College is not just the component that could affect the Academic Performance. Therefore, teachers wouldn’t depend entirely on it to determine a student’s academic performance. Moreover, there was no significant relationship between students’ level of study skills and level of academic performance, it is understandable that the level of study skills doesn’t affect the level of academic performance. Therefore, future researchers are required to clearly understand the true mechanisms between these two variables
