STUDY HABITS AND ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE OF FIRST YEAR BSED ENGLISH STUDENTS OF UM PEÑAPLATA COLLEGE
Abstract
This study entitled "Study Habits and Academic Performance of First Year BSED English Students of UM Peñaplata College" aim to determine the relationship between Study Habits and Academic Performance of first-year BSED English students. This study used the quantitative descriptive-correlation research design to determine the relationship between study habits and academic performance. The first-year BSED English students of UM Peñaplata College have a total population of 80 students. Thirty students were randomly selected as respondents using a random sample technique. In gathering the data, the researchers used google forms to disseminate the survey questionnaires. The relationship between study habits and academic Performance was measured using statistical tools, specifically the mean, standard deviation, and Pearson-r. The result showed no significant relationship between study habits and the student's academic performance. For future researchers, this study can be used as a reference if they conduct the same study in other fields. They can also investigate other possible variables that could influence academic Performance, such as student engagement, economic status, and many more.
