The purpose of the study titled “English Speaking Anxiety of Grade 11 Students in Island Garden City of Samal” was to collect and interpret the experiences of the selected Grade 11 students brought by a phenomenon, the English-speaking anxiety. This utilized the phenomenological study, a qualitative method of inquiry that studies things in their natural settings, attempting to make a sense or interpret phenomena in terms of the meanings people bring them. The data was gathered through an In-Depth Interview with the help of question guide or interview guide. Results showed that the participants experienced common struggles such as Communication Difficulty and Lack of Vocabulary. They also experienced common feelings and behavior such as Nervousness, Perturbation, Lack of Confidence, the Fear of Negative Evaluation, and Refusal. The findings may be helpful for the awareness of the teachers about the anxiety of the students and help them to boost their confidence in speaking English in class.en_US
