Abstract
The study chose 150 employees of the small scale hotels in Davao City, wherein during the survey, they have indicated their reactions. Mean and Pearson r were used as the statistical tools in treating the data. Descriptive correlation was utilized in the study using the convenience sampling technique. The main purpose of the study was to determine the working morale and job retention among small scale hotels in Davao City. The result were as follows: The level of working morale among small scale hotels in Davao City is high; the level of job retention among small scale hotels in Davao City is very high level; and, there is a significant relationship between working morale and job retention among small scale hotels in Davao City. The researchers recommend that emphasizing recognition in the organization is relevant citing the accomplishments of the employees and how they have contributed to the advancement of the organization, the general manager should keep a record of the accomplishments of the employees to be able to recognize annually deserving employees. Also, loyalty and dedication are the best weapon the employees could have in their daily duties in the working place, which would be the basis of the management to compensate them reasonably and reward them for their unwavering effort. On the other hand, pursuing similar study would render the study useful to the future researchers by using it as their reference, particularly the factors that influences hotel management to retrench employees.
