dc.description.abstract | This study aimed to assess the perceived impact of water scarcity to the residents of Bansalan, Davao del Sur. It specifically aimed to determine the consumer’s challenges and sentiments, household mechanism, and perception towards the agency. Descriptive survey was used as a research design of the study. The respondents of the study were the 124 residents among selected Barangays who were determined using quota sampling. Frequency, mean and ANOVA were used as statistical tools. The result showed that the majority of the respondents have a low monthly income of Php 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, with 1 to 6 household members. The level of residents’ perception on the impact of water scarcity in terms of challenges and sentiments and household mechanisms were high, while they have a very high level of perception towards the agency as to their responsibility in solving problems about the water system in the community. Further, residents from the five affected Barangays have the same level of perceptions as to the impact of water scarcity in the locality. Regardless of their location, monthly income and number of households, they expressed the same level of experiences brought about the shortage and interruption of water supply. It was recommended that Sustainable Water Management should be implemented by the agency. The agency and Local Government Unit of Bansalan must allocate budget for the improvement of water systems among affected Barangays. | en_US |
