dc.description.abstractThis study was entitled, "Relationship between Supportive Learning Environment and Pupils Reading Engagement in Selected Elementary School in Island Garden City of Samal". This study aimed to determine if there is a relationship between a supportive learning environment and pupils’ reading engagement. The researchers will use the descriptivecorrelation method. This study uses the descriptive method because it is designed to describe the level of the two variables and the correlation method. The participants of this study are the teachers of Angel Villarica Central School, Peñaplata Central School and Anonang Elementary School, from grade 1 to 6. The researchers use a standardized questionnaire. And the results of this study was significant because the level of supportive learning environment is high in terms of sharing and comparing knowledge is very high, relevance and self-control and selfreflection is high. And also the level of pupils reading engagement is high. Therefore, there is significant relationship between supportive learning environment and pupils reading engagement. Furthermore, Teachers must encourage pupils to compare their solutions with their classmates, also teachers must give more assignments to the pupils that are related to events from the news. Teachers must promote on his/her pupils on how to comment the work of their classmates. And also teachers must inspire the pupils to comprehend what they have read in the reading selection even in a gentle manner, so that the pupils will completely understand what they have readen_US
