SATISFACTION AND RETENTION OF REGULAR GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES IN CITY HALL OF SAMAL
Abstract
The study Satisfaction and Retention of Government Employees in City Hall of Samal were conducted to determine the level of satisfaction and retention of regular employees of Local Government Unit (LGU) in City Hall, Island Garden City of Samal. Through the study, the researchers were able to analyze, evaluate, organize and gather the data accordingly. The study aims to determine the level of satisfaction and retention of regular employees of the Local Government Unit (LGU) in City Hall, Island Garden City of Samal. The study was a quantitative descriptive correlational research design. The statistical tools used in the study were mean and Pearson r. The data was gathered through the use of survey questionnaires and was distributed to 236 regular LGU employees in the City Hall of Samal. The result showed that the job satisfaction of employees generated an average mean score and shows that the items were fairly evident, while employee retention had a very low mean score and shows that the items are very evident. Moreover, there was no significant relationship between employee satisfaction and employee retention. To make employees more satisfied, City Human Resource Management must continue and enhance what their strategy is so that the employee will surely retain or stay in the organization.
