Parental involvement and student motivation have been scientifically shown to
have a variety educational benefits they can offer in education. However,
students’ motivation as an academic outcome of parental involvement has only
recently been investigated. The purpose of this article is to show how parental
involvement is related to student motivation. This purpose of this research is to
see whether or not there is no relationship between parental involvement and
student motivation. A sample of 113 parents and 113 students were our
respondents at Guilon Elementary school. A Quantitative design and
Questionnaire as a research instrument were used to collect data for the study.
Data analysis was conducted by employing statistical tools (mean and standard
deviation) to examine the level of parental involvement and student motivation
in education. Based on the gathered data, the analysis showed no significant
Relationship between Parental Involvement and Student Motivation. It is
recommended from the study that parents may continue to support to motivate
their children, although the result revealed that there is no significant in student
motivation. It also recommended that the future researchers’ conduct the same
study in different schools, probably in the Island Garden City of Samal, to
confirm the effectiveness of this study and to verify the result; the future
researchers should administer the same research in a more extended period in
finding enough evidence.
