Students’ Academic Performance Before and During the New Normal: A Comparative Study

This research was conducted a study involving the student’s academic performance before face-to-face classes and during the used of modular teaching method in Elementary. The subjects are students of AVCES in Babak, PCESSC in Samal and KCES in Kaputian in selected subject english; mathematics; and science. This consists of 95 Grade 6 students and who are Grade 5 before in every district elementary. The researchers used the descriptive-comparative method of research employing data gathered result of students’ academic performance before and during new normal. To assess the level of student’s academic performance before and during implementing of modular teaching method of Grade 6 students who are Grade 5 before. This study shows that the Grade 6 students who are Grade 5 before has obtained the level of academic performance with Satisfactory and during the implementation of modular teaching method also obtain a very satisfactory in their academic performance. The findings found out that the students gain very satisfactory in their academic performance in the used of modular teaching method than the academic performance before face-to-face classes. The level of students’ academic performance before and during the implementation of modular teaching has significance difference in new normal. The conclusion of the study was the level of academic performance of the students before is satisfactory than during was very satisfactory which means that modular teaching is best than face-to-face. Researchers recommend that the students in Babak, Samal, and Kaputian District should study by their own without further explanation. Students should need to practice appreciate the modular teaching.
