dc.description.abstract | The study was performed with the primary purpose of determining whether there was a significant difference in academic performance between Grade 4 pupils before and after the pandemic, specifically in English, Science, and Mathematics. The study employed a descriptive-comparative approach, in which the researchers analyzed two variables and constructed a detailed procedure to compare and conclude that one is greater than the other if significant differences exist. Secondary data (Grade Weighted Average in Second Quarter in English, Science, and Mathematics) were collected from Babak District Elementary Schools in Toril, Sto Niño and San Agustin. Data was analyzed and interpreted using the average weighted mean and t-test as statistical tools. Based on the findings of the study, the data revealed that first, the result in the level of academic performance of grade 4 before the pandemic has an overall descriptive equivalent of satisfactorily. Second, the level of academic performance of grade 4 pupils during the pandemic has an overall descriptive equivalent of "very satisfactorily." Third, there is no significant difference in the level of academic performance of grade 4 pupils before and during the pandemic, except in the subject of mathematics, as revealed by the computed p-value of.09. Hence, the decision on hypotheses is accepted. Moreover, teachers need to enhance their teaching strategies in providing education during modular distance learning, especially in mathematics. | en_US |
