dc.description.abstractThe primary purpose of this study is to determine the stress coping mechanisms of Tourism Management students in the University of Mindanao. An Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) research design was used in the study. The survey used a modified questionnaire to know the stress coping mechanisms of Tourism Management students in the University of Mindanao. The study took 231 respondents to answer the questionnaires. The data gathered were treated using frequency count, percentage, mean, t-test and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The result of the study are follows: Majority of the respondents are female tourism student age range from 18-22 yrs. old and mostly 4th year; the results of the study found two factors namely, Avoidance and Adaptive mechanism; there was no significant difference on the stress coping mechanisms of Tourism Management students in the University of Mindanao when analyzed according to profile. Based on findings the researchers recommend that the College of Hospitality Education must conduct seminars about stress management. This may help the school in helping the nation and the world to be more productive. Lastly, for the future researchers we recommend you to use the results of this study as a future reference in pursuing another study particularly about stress coping mechanisms of Tourism Students.
