ABSTRACT
Internships have been gradually increasing in terms of its incorporation
into the academic curriculum of tertiary education providers and have been
made compulsory as a requirement for graduation in some parts of the world.
The main objective of this study is to explore the level of satisfaction among
4
th year tourism management students on their internship program. There
were six core variables identified through the literatures predictors of
internship satisfaction namely pre-deployment stage, deployment stage, post deployment stage, supervisor, Company OJT designated facilities,
laboratories, offices and workstations and company. To explore further, a
quantitative research involving 60 4th year tourism management
undergraduates who had undergone internship from the University of
Mindanao, College of Hospitality Education was conducted. The relationship
among variables were evaluated and analyzed with Analysis of Variance and
independent samples t-test. The findings showed that the majority of the
respondents were highly satisfied with their internship program. This study
may provide pointers for the university faculty for a more effective conduct of
internship. Helping undergraduates to get the most from their internship and
