This study aims to explain the different point of views of the local
community towards gay festival. This study was conducted in Tagum City
where gay festival is known to be celebrated every 2nd week of July to
showcase the talents and skills of the gay people. Based on the in-depth
interview, the respondents show respect and acceptance because of the Gay
Festival which is now gained by the LGBT community from the local people of
Tagum. The gay festival helped the character formation of teenagers. Young
people of Tagum City learn to accept and appreciate LGBT community.
This thesis is structured in five main characters: (1) The Problem and
its setting, significance of the study, definition of terms and the organization of
the study; (2) Literature Review, addressing related prose on gay festival; (3)
Methodology, shows the methods that were used in the conduct of the study;
(4) Presentation and Analysis of finding which shows the community’s points of-view on gay festivals; (5) Summary of findings. Conclusions and
recommendations.
