Decision making competence of freshmen HRM students in University of Mindanao

This study was conducted to determine the level of decision-making competence of freshmen HRM students analyzed by the origin of place and type of living arrangement. The researchers employed a descriptive survey method and a survey questionnaire was used as the data collection instrument. The instrument used in the study was validated by the members of the panel. ANOVA and T-tests were used to analyze the data. The respondents of this study were two hundred fifty-two (252) randomly selected freshmen HRM student who are presently enrolled in University of Mindanao. Results revealed that most of respondents who are originally live in Davao City, while half of the portion of respondents came from rural areas and the rest of the respondent came from Luzon region. In addition, the level of decision-making of HRM students had always used the attributes that describe the indicators. However, the main variable dependent when analyze by type of living arrangement was a factor in providing a significant difference in the level of decision making. Moreover, the rest indicators when analyzed by the origin of place and type of living arrangement were non-factors or non-determinant in providing significant differences in the level of decision-making competence.
