Davao River's Coastal Preservation

The study was conducted to determine the implementation level of Coastal Preservation of Barangays near the Davao River. Majority of the respondents were 50 years old and above, female, married and were high school graduates. Using the descriptive research method and employing Mean, T test, ANOVA and Pearson r, the researchers found the following results: coastal preservation was well implemented by the respondents residing near the Davao River; coastal protection was well implemented by the respondents living near the Davao River; coastal rehabilitation was well implemented by the respondents living near the Davao River; there is no significant difference in level of coastal preservation among the respondents when analyzed according to age, sex and civil status; there is no significant difference in level of coastal preservation when analyzed according to educational attainment in rehabilitation and conservation, however, it showed relationship with protection. It was recommended that the local government of Davao City should continue implementing programs, acts, and laws and educate individuals regarding the preservation of the river until residents would know how to protect, rehabilitate and conserve the river. Residents residing near the river bank should abide the programs mandated by the city government of Davao and should be guided by the official of the barangay.
