Abstract
The study determined the Perception among students on the Guidance and Counseling Referral System of University of Mindanao, Davao City Philippines. The study utilized the convenience and purposive sampling. Students who were referred to guidance and counseling office for the School Year of 2017-2018 were given a survey questionnaire based on their relative ease of access. 100 Random students at premises of the University of Mindanao were asked individually if they have experienced referrals to guidance and counseling office as they are the appropriate subjects of the study. The researcher used a checklist Likert scale survey questionnaire as the tool for gathering the data. The study revealed that the students level of perception to guidance and counseling referral system is very high in helping the students improve in attitude or behavior. Moreover, hindrance of students in visiting the guidance and counseling office is the time element, in which students do not have enough time to visit the guidance and counseling office. Furthermore, the highest changes after the guidance and counseling visit by the students is that, students have realization that life is essential and life has to go on. The researchers recommend the study to those researchers who would like to do detailed research about guidance and counseling referral systems effectiveness. This study would be a helpful source for those researchers who would want to study and gather reliable sources with regards to guidance and counseling effectiveness to students.
