The study entitled Awareness and Compliance to Immunization after Hearing the Dengvaxia Controversy among residents in selected Barangays in Davao City. This study is a quantitative type of research with a total of 120 respondents from three selected Barangays in Davao City, particularly in Barangay Sasa, Barangay SIR Matina, and Barangay Lubogan, Toril. The proponents used a validated self-made questionnaire as instruments in gathering data. The statistical tool used in the study are as follows: Mean, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), T-test, Percentage, Variables, Tukey Test. The study determined the compliance of the parents on the DOH immunization program was affected after hearing the Dengvaxia controversy from social media, television, newspapers, etc. The respondents are aware of the issue with regard to compliance, Brgy. Lubogan Toril is more compliant compare to the Brgy. SIR Matina and Brgy. Sasa. There is no significant difference in the level of awareness among residents on the three selected Barangay’s in Davao City. Concerning the extent of compliance, there is a substantial difference in the degree of compliance among residents on the three chosen Barangay’s in Davao City particularly between Barangay SIR Matina and Barangay Lubogan, Toril Davao City. Based on the findings the proponents of the study concluded that the respondents in the three Barangay’s are aware of the Dengvaxia controversy, despite the issue, the residents are still compliant to the immunization program of the DOH. It is recommended to help the Department of Health to personnel through the dissemination of information drive and giving seminars to the residents on the benefits of the immunization program by the DOH and to emphasize the significance if all the children are fully immunized.
