THE BACKYARD HOG RAISERS OF BARANGAY CATAGMAN: SUCCESS FACTORS CONTRIBUTORS
Abstract
The study entitled “The Backyard Hog Raisers of Brgy. Catagman: Success Factors Contributors” was conducted to determine the factors that contribute to the success of backyard hog raisers. Successful Backyard Hog Raisers of Barangay Catagman were the respondents of the study. Descriptive Research Design was the method used in the study, a method that is used to describe the two variables.Among the contributing success factors of backyard hog raisers, backyard hog raisers made sure that pigs are comfortable in their shelter and provided concrete floors that are constructed with proper drainage for the waste. Hog raisers use savings and look forward for lesser obligations and put up additional capital. Pigs are produced healthy to the customers. Pigs that are crossbreeds can easily adapt their environment as they grow up.Harvesting two to five fattening pigs at three to five months give a better profit to the backyard hog raisers. The customers are given the satisfaction of the product and provided with guaranteed services. The hog raisers are making a fair price and selling the products through middleman since it is a convenient way as far as transportation and other expenses is concerned. All the contributing factors in backyard hog raising are relevant to the success of backyard hog raisers.
Maintain well-constructed pigpens to make sure that pigs are comfortable and protected from bad weather.Savings should be practiced thoroughly in providing additional capital than other sources of capital. Pigs must be regularly vaccinated so that a backyard hog raiser can produce a healthier pig. Pigs for fattening give a higher profit as compared to other types of pig, for this reason, it is more appropriate to raise pigs for fattening. Backyard hog raiser must meet the needs of customers by giving guaranteed services. Fattening pigs must be sold through queries personnel to reduce expenditures that may occur when not sold through a middleman.
