dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between body image and self–esteem among BPE students of UM Tagum College. The null hypothesis was formulated and tested that there is no significant relationship between body image and self–esteem among BPE students of UM Tagum College. Data was collected from 209 BPE students of UM Tagum College. Non – experimental quantitative research design utilizing correlational technique was the method used. Using Slovin Formula, Mean, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), Pearson (r), and Multiple Regression Analysis, research finding shows that the level of body image was moderate and high for self – esteem. Results showed that the application of body image is observed in most cases in the items of appearance, body shape, and physical strength, as well as the level of self–esteem in the terms of reflected appraisals, social comparison, and self-attribution. The result implied that there is no significant relationship between body image and self–esteem among BPE students. The result revealed that the indicators presented of body image did not influence the self–esteem among BPE students of UM Tagum College.en_US
