dc.description.abstract | The residents of Brgy. Palmagil in Caraga, Davao Oriental, lacks a proper water distribution system that supplies enough potable water for their community. Their spring water source shall have to provide water to 4 sitios or barangays, which have a total of 360 households (HH) and are located at some distance away from each other. The researchers are to aid the community by analyzing and designing a Level III Water Distribution System that must also include a suitable water treatment system. The analyzing and designing process uses software applications (e.g., EPANET and Google Earth), manuals on water distribution, and gathered data. The EPANET software program, where the project is analyzed, is used with simple mathematical equations and other data from the feasibility study (FS) document. Following the standards set by the manuals or by the industry experts, the project's design incorporates the analysis result. During the analysis process, the placement of reservoir tanks and communal faucets for each sitio or barangay affects the flow and pressure values of the water supply. The size and length of pipe used in the analysis also matter as there is an allocated budget to consider and can affect the analysis result. In conclusion, the reservoir tank, intended for one sitio nearest to the water source, is now designed to supply water to the whole community instead of the planned
one reservoir tank per sitio or barangay. | en_US |
