dc.description.abstractThis study entitled "Factors affecting the tricycle drivers' income in Peñaplata Island Garden City of Samal" was conducted to determine the factors affecting the tricycle driver's income, it sought to answer the following questions: to what extent do the tricycle drivers' income is affected in terms of gasoline price increase, repair and maintenance and weather condition, and is there any significant difference in the factors affecting the tricycle drivers income in terms of gasoline price increase, repair and maintenance and weather condition. This study was realized with the cooperation of thirty (30) tricycle drivers who were visibly member of Peñaplata Operators and Drivers Cooperative were considered as respondents of this study. A descriptive method of research was employed in this study to describe systematically, factually, accurately and objectively a situation problem or phenomenon, In which body of data collected, recorded and solves a problem as an established of a cause and effect on relationship. Based on the gathered data, the researchers found that the tricycle drivers' income is affected at all time with the price increase of gasoline, the tricycle drivers' income is affected frequently with the repair and maintenance. Weather condition affects the tricycle drivers' income every now and then. This means that all the factors stated, in general, frequently affect the tricycle drivers' income and there is no significant difference on the factors affecting the tricycle drivers' income in terms of gasoline price increase, repair and maintenance, and weather condition. In the light of above mentioned findings of the study, the researchers recommend: first, the tricycle drivers must need to maintain and handle carefully the vehicle to decrease the cost of repair and maintenance. Second, the tricycle driver should always follow safety precautions in driving in order to minimize engine maintenance problems. Lastly, the tricycle drivers should maximize their time in picking passengers in order to acquire higher income every day.en_US
