This research report presents a phenomenological study on the financial challenges experienced by farmers, aiming to provide a deeper understanding of the struggles faced by individuals in the agricultural sector in Island Garden City of Samal. The study employed in-depth interviews with farmers from Samal Island to explore their lived experiences and perspectives on the financial difficulties they encounter. This study draws upon the Amin;s reliance theory, Harvey's neoliberalism theory, and Adger's structural vulnerability concept to examine the psychological well-being of farmers in Samal Island. The findings highlight the multifaceted nature of financial challenges among farmers, including issues such as unstable market prices, rising input costs, weather-related uncertainties and limited access to essential resources in Samal. The challenges not only jeoperdize the economic viability of farming operations but also impact the mental well-being and overall quality of life of farmers. The study underscores the urgent need for targeted support and interventions to address the financial constraints faced by farmers and promote the sustainability of agriculture. By amplifying the voices of farmers and shedding light on their plight, this research contributes to the broader conversation on enhancing the resilience and viability of the agricultural sector.en_US
