dc.description.abstractThis study explores the used of literary devices in songs, it is focusing on identifying the literary devices present in environmental songs of the 21st century by Owl City and examining how these devices reinforce the message of the songs. This study did not involved any participants because the researchers focused on analyzing the lyrics of three selected environmental songs of the 21st century, and they also conducted a qualitative research design. The results revealed a variety of literary devices that help the songwriters expressed their emotions freely and effectively. The study also suggests that lyrics composed of literary devices can enhance the vocabularies of both songwriters and listeners. Therefore, literary devices in song lyrics are available tools for vocabulary improvement. Additionally, it is recommended that teachers and students expand their learning beyond traditional textbooks by exploring song lyrics as a resource for understanding the use of literary devices, this will also help the current and future researchers in seeking information on this kind of study.en_US
