dc.description.abstractThis study aims to understand how rice retailers handle their challenges. We have five (5) participants for in-depth interviews (IDI). This study used the qualitative phenomenological research approach to acquire significant insights into how rice retailers perceived their experiences of having any difficulties in selling rice. Further, the study results show that rice retailer experienced challenges. The experiences during the increase in the price of rice, quality of rice, and effect on the rice retailers income. Hence, the rice retailer managed their finances to evade any challenges they encountered by employing strategies such as explaining the price increase to their customers, negotiating with suppliers to find savings, limiting rice stocking, utilizing a budget tracker to monitor expenses, and ensuring proper management of their income. Further, the insights gleaned from the results reveal that rice retailer are driven to work diligently for the betterment of their children, to meet their daily needs, and to support their families. Additionally, they are proactive in preparing themselves for potential challenges and remain steadfast in their belief that problems can be resolved through perseverance and determination. The insights generated from the results also have the potential to enhance understanding of the complexities within the rice supply chain. This deeper understanding can empower individuals to make informed decisions that foster mutually beneficial outcomes for both customers and sellers alike.en_US
