Financial knowledge and money attitude among college students in UM Panabo College

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the significant relationship between financial knowledge and money attitude among college students in UM Panabo College. The respondents of this research were 289 students. The researchers used random sampling technique to gathered the data. The study adopts a quantitative non-experimental and correlational method. Mean and Pearson-r were used to analyzed the effectiveness of financial knowledge and money attitude among college students in UM Panabo College. The study revealed that the UM Panabo College students in terms of financial knowledge is high and yielded an overall mean of 3.92. For the level of money attitude among college students in UM Panabo College, it garnered a high result in terms of achievement and success, saving concerns, mindful and responsible, power and status, and financial literacy worries constituted a 4.07 overall mean. Furthermore, the computed r-value between financial knowledge and money attitude is 0.606 with the p-value of 0.000, which less than 0.05 level of significance. Thus, the null hypothesis is rejected.
