| dc.description.abstract | This study qualitative-multiple case study was conducted to investigate the experiences of women in terms of domestic violence in Bansalan, Davao del Sur. Moreover, it also aimed to ascertain their coping mechanisms and the insights which they perceived effective for reducing cases of domestic violence. Through In-depth Interview to five (5) women participants identified through snowball technique, varied emerging themes were extracted based on specific research objectives. Miles and Huberman framework was used for data analysis. Data revealed that domestic violence as experienced by women having an abusive partner is just one of the prevailing problems surrounding the local community. Women experienced physical abuse, sexual abuse, verbal and emotional abuse, economic abuse, and grave threat. Moreover, abused women have coping mechanisms as they experienced domestic violence such as attention and focus to children, and seeking social support. Further, abused women shared some insights to address problems on domestic violence on women. They perceived the provision of livelihood programs, seminars on women’s rights and protection, and counseling and moral recovery programs as significant schemes. | en_US |
