This study was conducted to determine the level of perception of college students on the proposal of federalism in the Philippines. The researchers aimed to determine the significant difference in the level of students’ perception on the proposal of federalism in the Philippines when analyzed according to age, course, gender and monthly income. Descriptive-survey method of research was used in this study with 85 selected college students of University of Mindanao Bansalan College and St. Mary’s College of Bansalan, Inc. Data revealed that the level of perception of college students on the proposal of federalism was high which implies a high level of awareness and understanding. Moreover, there is a significant difference in terms of division of powers as used as an indicator in students’ perception on the proposal of federalism in the Philippines when analyzed by age. This further means that age is a factor of students’ understanding on division of powers on the proposed federal system of government. On the other hand, results revealed no significant difference in the level of students’ perception on the proposal of federalism when analyzed by course, gender and monthly income. It is recommended that the national government, through its implementing agencies should exert even more effort to inform and educate the citizens about federalism. The schools should also inform and educate the students through conducting symposiums and orientation so that they will have clear insights and knowledge about the federal system.en_US
