dc.description.abstract | The present study investigated the unpaid overtime experienced by BPO rank and file employees and its effect to their career growth, wellbeing, and labor earnings, how unpaid overtime affect the morale and productivity of employees and how responsive the organization policies to their needs. The researchers have specifically use phenomenological approach to achieve the objectives of the study. Additionally, the researchers used key informant interviews and focus group discussions in the gathering of data among the participants by using an unstructured interview questionnaire in gathering information and answers. As such, the study found that unpaid overtime detrimentally affects the overall productivity and morale of the employees affecting their work quality in doing their job; unpaid overtime has no direct correlation with career growth; however, it has significantly affected their labor earnings and affects the wellbeing of the employee, there are numerous labor violations that have been discussed and identified including miscalculation of overtime pay, intimidation from superior to work forced overtime work, and decreasing the original incentives to be received to what has been agreed upon and management policies have favoured the company and compromised the interest of the employees in rendering unpaid overtime work | en_US |
