dc.description.abstractThe focus of this study is to understand how the book cover taglines affect the qualitative nature of this study reveals insights on how would young adults think deeply and act on their social roles. The study used the qualitative method utilizing readers response approach. The participants of the study were 7 English major students for the in-depth interview and 7 English teachers for the focus group discussion. Purposive sampling was used for the data gathering. Analysis of the data reveals interesting themes regarding their views and opinions on how taglines are important to readers in choosing a book. Results of the study will help English major students to understand and interpret books and choose novel according to their preferences through analyzing the tagline while English teachers will enable them to apply and generate new ideas and lesson regarding books as readers themselves.en_US
