dc.description.abstract | This study was conducted to determine the level gambling addictive behavior among residents in Barangay Poblacion, Magsaysay, Davao del Sur. It sought to understand the profile of the respondents in terms of age, sex, status, and monthly income. In the same manner, the study sought to determine the significant difference in level of gambling addictive behavior among residents when analyzed by profile. This study used a descriptive-survey method of research. Purposive sampling was used to determine the number of respondents. For valid and reliable interpretation of the data, the statistical tools used were relative frequency, mean, t-Test for independent samples, and ANOVA. The respondents were the 110 identified gamblers from the two Puroks in the barangay. Majority of the respondents were 27-35 years old, male respondents who are married, and whose income is within 5,000 and below. The data also revealed that the level of gambling addictive behavior was low. As to the independent sample t-Test on the level of gambling addictive behavior when analyzed by sex, there is a significant difference in the level of gambling addictive behavior which means that men have a higher level of gambling behavior compared to women. Further, there is no significant difference on the level of gambling addictive behavior in terms of age and civil status of the respondents. But there is a significant difference in the level of gambling addictive behavior between the respondents whose income is within 6,000-10,000 and 16,000-20,000. | en_US |
