| dc.description.abstract | Drywall is a panel of gypsum plaster pressed between two thick sheets of paper. It
is one of the significant types of construction and demolition debris in modern society.
However, drywall is not water-resistant when exposed, especially when installed in high-
moisture rooms, and it also has many issues with gypsum mining, which poses a potential
threat to the environment. This study aims to design a drywall board utilizing sugarcane
ash and sunflower seed husk to replace Gypsum to alleviate its adverse effects. The study
determined the physical and mechanical properties of the drywall reinforced with
Sugarcane Ash (SA) and Sunflower Seed Husk (SH), as well as the ideal mix ratio.
According to the results, C5 resulted in the highest average compressive and flexural
strength, 9.15 MPa and 8.51 MPa, respectively, showing a significant increase in
compressive strength (7.52%) and flexural strength (8.57%). On the contrary, the density
and water absorption decreased in value when the percentage of SA was low, and the
percentage of SH was high. The findings showed that utilizing a mixture of sugarcane ash
and sunflower seed husk enhanced the properties of the drywall. Furthermore, using SA
and SH has successfully achieved its goals to utilize the potential of Sugarcane Ash and
Sunflower Seed Husk's waste material to design a new drywall board and evaluate its
