dc.description.abstract | Career preferences are vital decisions for students. In choosing which Tri
Bureau agency to work for, there are many factors that students need to
consider. The Study used multinomial analysis to determine the career
preferences of criminology students at the University of Mindanao among Tri
Bureau agencies. Data was collected from 300 randomly selected Criminology
students. Using a descriptive survey method, the Study disclosed that the most
preferred agencies are the PNP, BPF, and BJMP. 49.30% of respondents
identified themselves as having their dream job enforcing the law, preventing
and controlling crimes, and maintaining peace and order. 34.70% of the
respondents anticipated carrying the duty to protect the people and their
property against the fires.
Furthermore, 16.00% of respondents visualized working under direct
supervision in jail management. The multinomial analysis found that age,
gender, influence of Family and friends, socioeconomic, and personal interests
do not predict their career preferences. This Study recommends the following:
future researchers, future criminology students, the guidance personnel, the
community, and parents of the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire
and Protection (BFP), and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology
(BJMP). These aim to help you set professional goals and development
strategies for getting where you want to be
