Abstract
This study was conducted to determine the level of discrimination among LGBT members in Barangay Poblacion Dos, Bansalan, Davao del Sur in terms of verbal, emotional and physical abuses. It sought to understand the demographic profile of the LGBT respondents in terms of gender-preference, age, religion, educational attainment, occupation and socio-economic status, and ascertain if there is a significant difference in the level of discrimination among LGBT members when analyzed by profile. Descriptive-survey method of research was used in this study with 100 LGBT members and residents of Barangay Poblacion Dos. Convenience sampling was used to determine the number of respondents. For valid and reliable interpretation of the data, the statistical tools used are relative frequency, mean and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The data revealed that the level of verbal, emotional and physical abuse experienced by the LGBT respondents was moderate. It was also revealed that there was no significant difference in the level of discrimination among LGBT members when analyzed by profile. Hence, analysis disclosed that most of the LGBT members respondents moderately encountered similar experience in their lives but not at all times. Intervention scheme to address problems on the LGBT discrimination was formulated and recommended for implementation and utilization.
