The study uses a correlational research design and will have a quantitative approach that would determine the relationship between the compliance level of the commercial building situated in Barangay Magugpo West, Tagum City, to the pertinent provisions of the Fire Code of the Philippines and the perceived users’ safety. Their level of compliance, as well as the safety feelings of the users, will be measured using a 5-point Likert scale survey questionnaire. The correlational analysis resulted that there are significant between the level of compliance of commercial buildings in Tagum city in terms of means of egress, lighting, and signs, and features for fire protection and the User's safety, and the study found that the selected commercial building in Tagum city is at a higher risk of fire incidence due to the city's lower means that belongs to below standards of compliance with the Fire Code.
