dc.description.abstract | This study is entitled Portrayal of Women in 365 Days Film: In the Lens of Feminist Film Analysis which aims to further understand the stereotypical representation and portrayal of women in the film as well as its impact on the viewers. An in-depth interview (IDI) and focus-group discussion (FGD) was conducted to 12 students, six for in-depth interviews and six for the focus group. The respondents of this study were students from UM Tagum College taking BSED-English. We collected five important themes under research question 1, two themes under research question 2, and three themes under research question 3. The data obtained from the study was coded and analyzed using the data reduction, drawing conclusions and verification. It was found that portrayal of women in the film 365 Days shows different types of stereotypes and causes both positive and negative impact on the viewers. Generally, despite the stereotypical representation or portrayal of women in the film 365 Days, the respondents said that they hope that the movie will be more open to appreciate and value women characters. Appropriate representation and portrayal of women in films are essential in maintaining equality for all gender.
