| dc.description.abstract | The prime purpose of the study conducted was to determine the level of awareness on the psychological effects in the use of facebook in the University of Mindanao Bansalan College students. Since the use of facebook has become a prevalent concern among parents and educators as this will eat up the system of the students. The researchers aimed to determine the level of awareness of the students as this will be the basis for an action plan. The study was conducted using a survey method of research which the researchers used the questionnaire technique of the survey research. The researchers randomly distributed the questionnaires to the 189 students of the University of Mindanao Bansalan college. Using the statistical approach to the data sought from the survey, the study resulted in findings that determine the level of awareness on the psychological effects in the use of facebook in terms of peer approval, self-identity and family relations. Based on the statistical result, the Pearson correlation coefficient for age, self-identity and family relation at a significant level of 0.052 based on 189 complete observations is not significant. Therefore, it shows no psychological implications to the users in terms of the effect of using facebook. On the other hand, the pearson correlation coefficient for age and peer approval at a significant level of 0.05 based on 189 complete observation is significant, the correlation of peer approval, self-identity and family relations at a significant level of 0.001 (P<0.01 for a two tailed test) based on 189 complete observation is significant. Therefore, it has psychological implications to the users in terms of the effect of using facebook. | en_US |
