dc.description.abstractThis phenomenological study aims to explore the coping mechanism of college students in the fear of public speaking. Hence, to gather more insights and views, we conducted a qualitative research and interviewed 14 participants, 7 for in-depth and 7 for focus group, at every universities and colleges in Tagum City. The findings for question number 1, there were 5 themes emerged. These are Fear of being in Public or Shyness, Fear of Negative Evaluation, Fear of speaking Inaccurately, Low self- esteem and Lack of Training and exposure. They apply of being optimistic of the situation and for grade compliance as their coping mechanisms. Furthermore, for question number 3 the themes are; Building self- confidence and Training and Exposure. Moreover, these findings help individuals to find immediate solution regarding this emerging phenomenon.en_US
