This descriptive quantitative study sought to find out what is the perception of BEED and BSED students in UM Tagum College about Competency Appraisal specifically in General Mathematics. The population of the study consists of 4th year BEED and BSED of UM Tagum College who took the competency appraisal exam in the year 2017-2019. The population of the study within the given span of time were 488. The study sample has 146 college students selected through enumeration. Frequency and Percentage were the statistical tools used to answer the research question. The conclusion is drawn based on the findings of the study this study analyses students self-reports to find out what BEED and BSED students considered to be important for success in their course and how they perceived the competency appraisal course to contribute to the development of mathematical skills. Knowledge of learner's mathematical needs and the relationship between competency appraisal and other academic courses can be potentially useful to course instructors who seek to design effective mathematical skills. This study focused on competency appraisal and the aim of the enhancement is to make students know that all items in the test are important; using a remediation program might help the student who sees the math as less important.en_US
