Crime is illegal activity that is prohibited by the law. A crime is often called an ‘offence’.
Some people wear shirts that say ‘it’s only illegal if you get caught’. This is untrue. Any
activity prohibited by statute or the common law is illegal whether you are caught or not
(Hobart Community 2013). This study was conducted for its sole purpose to determine if
there is a psychological and emotional effect of crime to the victims and their families. There
are different levels of crimes though not all crimes are of the same magnitude, so we tend to
find out the different psychological and emotional effects to victims and their families. The
researcher uses a quantitative method and conduct interview based on the interview guided
questionnaires which are validated by the three professors. Based on the result of the study
conducted the researchers found out that regardless of how severe the crime is, there is
always an emotional and psychological effects to them and their immediate family.
As to what Sir Isaac Newton said, that every action has its equal and opposite reaction.
Bottom line every person who are victim of a crime no matter how big or small it is,
there is always and emotional and psychological effects.
